Raekwon's got features from French Montana and A$ap Rocky on his next album. And no Rza beats. Anti-retro fans, y'all happy now?

Who would people really like to hear Rae spit darts with in 2015? Are cameos like this the popular consensus?

Peace,

Spirit (Alan)

Which was one of the best cuts on the album.

Not sure about S1. Mostly because I can't recall off the top what else he's produced.

Which was a pretty good track. Can't find any other production credits.

who Kanye signed to his in-house production team or whatever. He co-produced Murder to Excellence off WTT and Power from Dark Twisted...

He's not the most boom-bappiest guy but his early shit reminded me a little of 9th wonder. I can't say I've listened to much of his recent stuff other than co-credits, which make it hard to discern how his individual sound has evolved.

A$AP and French have done solid work over more traditionalist hip-hop beats.

On the flip lets not act like modern rap production is all Diplo dance-trap music; its slowed up BPM's and dark as shit much of the time. Rae could kill some of these beats even on autopilot

but then the rappers just say the same stuff on it, no claustrophobic drug tales like "spot rusherz" or what have you. Rae could do good work on those beats.

That said, he shouldn't make these newer albums as long as he makes the cuban linx ones. I can't listen to 20 trap beats on an album no matter how good he rapping.

Never bought into the narrative that NY is/was not constantly evolving….there are so many rhyme styles that have come from the area…now if we are talking beats, I guess….

Integrity is the Cornerstone of Artistry...

Some of them have been lackluster, like Immobilarity and Lex Diamonds Story, and some have been pretty dope, like Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang.

RZA didn't even executive produce Shaolin..." (or the other two for that matter) and it featured appearances by Rick Ross, Lloyd Banks, and Jim Jones.

Which is to say that none of this is uncharted territory for Raekwon. And as "new" NY rappers go, I don't mind French or A$AP Rocky. As Reg noted above, both have done and have sounded good over "traditional" production.

So this tracklist does not effect my anticipation for the album either way.

If so, those dudes are dope.

I'm wondering if the S-1 who did "Power", produced two tracks on Tetsuo & Youth, and is in SFP, is the same S-1 who's on this album/produced "Tick Tock"?
