So then I looked her up and saw she released an album this past November titled Hunter which contains a Robert Glasper feature as well as her single Call My Name

Very solid album. It was actually re-released with the Call My Name cover, along with covers of She's Gone and I'm on Fire. The OG version didn't have those songs.

She also released a live album called Morgan James Live: A Celebration of Nina Simone. Also pretty solid.

Her YouTube page has lots of great covers too. I like her voice.

couple that with the first thing i heard from her being a Prince cover (Call My Name)? nah man, not feeling that.

i did a little youtube action on her name and she's got TONS of remakes. i don't get it, and i don't like it.

To quote mistermaxx "D'Mumblo" is hard to understand even though you can "feel" his lyrics, I actually liked hearing them clearer.

She does have original material as well, looks like she is just trying to use her covers as promo. She's been doing it for a while now and probobly just trying to find a way to get some more attentions. I'm not mad.

The book left some stuff out.

That showed me how much she studied and appreciated the album. I'm still very impressed by what her and Doug the guitarist did with those covers.

there would've been if she'd claimed those were her songs. but she made it clear those were covers.

or there would've been if more ppl were buying her covers than buying D's originals. that's not the case.
