Primary qualifying factor was usage of polysyllabic rhyme schemes. Say what you will about that, I will say that has been a big factor in evaluating MC ability (I don't think anyone up for GOAT contention has a strictly monosyllabic flow and most of the GOAT contenders I've seen excel at polysyllabic rhyme schemes, particularly in their best verses, even Pac has that attribute).
