"Bjork fans: how would you rank Bjorks discography?"
I figured by now most of her fans on her (not really sure if there are even that many on OKP, but w/e) should have been able to process her recent release, Vulincura, which honestly suprised the fuck out of me, because I love it, but I didn't expect it to be good - it's her best album since Vespertine probably, not a bad track on there and some of her most emotionally heavy stuff to date for obvious reasons. Her last two albums before that (Volta, and especially Biophillia) were not good IMO. Volta had some jams ("Wanderlust", "Vertabrae by Vertabrae") but in particular, Biophillia had a really cool concept, but the execution (the music, not bjork herself) just didn't really move me at all, it seemed kind of lifeless. The new release has got me listening allot to her discography, which made me realize that at this point, at least to me, she has a discography that few can fuck with. anyway my list would go like this:

Has been released in her 30s and 40s. Yeah she cut her chops punking around in her teens and twenties
But the Bjork we know and love has been going since Debut (1993, when she was 28) to now when she's about to turn 50!
Most of the time she has been in one of two marriages and with children
Every marker that has made most great artist boring and stifled their urge to push forward has been null and void with her
I have so much love for her. So much. She has always been that one artist I fucked with alongside D, Radiohead and Portishead, that I listened too even when all I cared about was rap circa 95 - 2001.

im ordering these by the number of 5star songs each record has in my itunes (i dont use the whole star system - my favorite songs are 5stars, i dont rank anything else)

Although I put on Post a few weeks ago and it was pretty great. Was thrown off by the first track because it sounded like Pretty Hate Machine-era NIN but once the album settled in there was some really interesting stuff on there
Gave the new one a few spins mostly because of Arca on co-production and I gotta say I was pretty disappointed. Didn't feel as emotionally grabbing as it should have, but maybe I just need to play it a few more times until it hits
Otherwise I've heard the bigger singles and have enjoyed pretty much everything I've heard. Always told myself I would dig into her discography at some point

theres also a remix album for Volta (Voltaic) that has some joints theres a remix album for Biophilia that isnt really worth paying attention to (like the orig) there's also this EP called "The Best Mixes from the Album Debut (For All the People Who Don't Buy White Labels)" and as referenced in the title above, she's put out a ton of vinyl and CD singles throughout her career with remixes - just start googling songs you like (or songs you WANT to like more) with the word "remix" on it - you'll find a trove of shit

However, I am a self-proclaimed fan of "mess"/"messy" albums. But it's also got some of her most personal songs ever ("Oceania", "Triumph of a Heart", "Who is it" and especially "Desired Constellation"). I feel that the highlights on it compete with any of the highlights on any of her other albums.
I understand that I'm in the minority and that most fans don't consider it that good.
