"Lady Gaga did a good job of covering the sound of music, whats next?"

and i refuse to watch the tired and predictable Oscars. unless it comes with a Oscar Meyer Hot dog i ain't wasting no time with that mess.

anyway it seems Gaga has done a 180 on her career did the hit album with Tony Bennett
and is going all smoothed out now.

so what would you recommend for her to do here on out since her PR team did a 180 and got her back in the good graces of the buying public again?

i think she could pull off that Diane Krall Cocktail Holiday Inn Lounge revue and be straight for a good while and drop a few albums on that tip.

she got the talent and groove she just has to stay cool

She's more talented than even Adele, but she makes obnoxious disposable music.

Plan A: Make a visual album

At this point I think she should make a piano driven comeback album. With Artpop she went all party and meaningless. If she focused on her voice and meaningful lyrics (Adele, Sam Smith, ect)

At some point I think a Beyoncé like visual album would help. A 'Purple Rain' like mini movie/album. This music focuses on voice while she's still using visuals to grab her base. I don't see Gaga successfully pulling in people at the box office (ala The Bodyguard) but she gained a lot of Hollywood's respect at the Oscars. Her label should get big time directors and actors to help her with a visual album next. Reduce the pre hype machine so people don't get tired of her before the album drops. I think she could sing more "Edge of Glory" type ( universally relatable)song and less "Venus."

Plan B: Call Jon Brion

On second thought she might need to just become a happier version of Fiona Apple Tidal era instead.

Plan C: Work with John Legend

A Dueling Pianos album.

Plan D: Pull a Beck

Make introspective albums/EPs in between good dance albums(with Redone)

Co-sign the Jon Brion/Apple steez being the best move for Lady Gaga

She can maintain her recently invigorated credibility with music snob types, stay edgy and bang out a hit or two with her own version of Extraordinary Machine.

She's too young to go the adult contemporary or jazz standards route.Save that for later.

After Kelly Clarkson's 2nd? album, she told Clive Davis she wanted to work on songs she wrote. Davis accepted, but told her only if her album after that was a album full of hits.

Clarkson's 2nd album sold okay, IIRC, but it wasn't diamond status, so she released her pop album.

The Gaga/Bennett album sounds like Clarkson's vanity project and likely Gaga will go back to being Gaga after she does the TV show SoWhat mentioned.

Truth be told, it's the better career move. Gaga is gifted musically and skill refines over time, but pop appeal dies after age 30 and Gaga is 28. I can't think of a pop star who could sell over a million records now who is over 30. (JT is 34 but he needed a double album last time to pull it off.)

Keep gettin' them checks (c) Jalen Rose
