on my first playthrough and he isn't as lifeless as he was on the Adrian Younge project. It's going to take some time for me to get used to the music on here backing Ghost, but I feel safe coping this when it drops next week. Ghost doesn't sound too bad on here IMO.

The album is cool, gonna give it another spin. Ghost isn't spinning anything amazing but it's not distractingly bad like the Adrian Younge album. I like the production, too, I've been digging BBNG for a while. Their instrumental stuff is really cool

Man, this is true, but very sad. I love Ghost but I've felt that anything after Fishscale hasn't been to the same level as before.

I used to rave about Ghost's story telling ability (Maxine, Child's Play etc) but now he sounds uninspired and the wordplay has gone.

Also Ghost worked well because along with the gangster (for lack of a better term) stuff he also did the odd/unorthodox very well (The Watch etc) but for a while it's been boring gun capers or weaker love songs...

Please don't let this be the end, Ghost!!

but that might just be because he didn't have to adhere to some concept/storyline.

Need to listen to Sour Soul a bit more but it's got the top spot at the moment.

Ghost isn't rapping like Supreme Clientle or even Fishscale, but he is rapping as good (probably better) than 36 Seasons, which was an album I really enjoyed. In my opinion this is easily the best production Ghost has rapped over since Fishscale, I just love the instrumentation, BBNG absolutely slaughter it. I'd definitely be down for more Ghost albums that sound like this

Just not moving me much. I dig 36 Seasons better than this and that's probably due to AZ and Kool G sharing mic duties. Not really feeling the guests or the production on this one. Ghost needs to slow down with the releases.

I need Ghost to rhyme like that! Shame he went back to his usual phone-it-in flow in the 2nd verse. But overall I think this is more enjoyable than his last two due to him not having to stick to a story. The production feels more Wu as well, imagine if they got these type of tracks for A Better Tomorrow...

Ghost might have the GOAT ear for beats, I don't think I ever heard him on a sack beat.

Ghost comes off like he's rapping on a jazzmatazz project.
Nothing wrong with it. I didn't expect these to light his fire some good ol' sampled soul would.

Sour Soul is very good for what it is.
I don't expect greatness from Ghost at this point but he was decent.
And BBNG threw down an impeccably produced set of instrumentals.

the timing is a bit strange, its coming off as a fall/autumn album

but


after K Dots release this is a perfect palate cleanser

so, after listening to this a few times I'm even at more of a loss how folks keep insisting A Bronson is jacking Ghost's swag. Two totally different styles even though they might kind of have similiar inflections
