Marvin was tormented.
R.Kelly is schizophrenic.
Little Richard was out there and set the stage for prince.

But he still didn't make god relevant to me.
Let's go crazy took stuff from church and made it....exciting.
I never knew that the messages from church could be empowering,
and could get you laid.

Also,prince got vanity.

Prince.

especially in the era when he was most popular.
That was just some stuff Black folks didn't do or condone.
He came through like "This is me, and this is how I get down", and he never seemed
to make a big deal about. It's just how shit was.
Here's this fruity ass dude who's bringing the races together with his music so much
so that the White Citizens Council warned against letting your white children listen to
his music, because he was bringing the races together.

By the time Prince came through, it was cool... because of Little Richard.

I supposed we could say Richard was the liberatOR (along with originator and emancipator like he loved to remind us).
Imo, the strength of freedom and conviction it takes to break the mold outdoes everything
that follows it simply because there's a courage and innovation there that doesn't
exist (or even HAVE to exist) with what follows.
