Glad you opened with the bare drums – put it on display that you took the time to separate - is that them up under the main chops or just heavily quantized chops with the drums in em?
Vibraphones and Wu ish guit stabs provides a dope feeling thru out.

Love how you broke it down more for the second verse. I'm digging the drums and rhythm of this. I like how you started and broke it down in the middle as well. I just wish this was a little longer and didn't end so abruptly. Nice work man.

to this one. At times I was ready to abandon ship lol...
Nah for real, this was a headache like no other,
Started out goin thru my library, found a joint that had both the drums and the melodic parts, did a nice sketch, couldnt pull the drums off – sounded like cardboard.
Did exactly the same routine again with the exact same end result.
Frustration kicked in about two days in. Found a dope duet on the tube at work, chopped it up there and brought it home, worked on it for another two days, only to find out I couldnt mix it according to standards.
Finally found another piece that suited my needs, and dayum if it aint turned out dope this time... Yall be the judge tho... Feedback appreciated as always...

I heard they used to be on Okayplayer in the Lesson a lot. Ha ha.
But yeah, this is fantastic. It seems real simple when I first heard it but it definitely has a lot going on. Normally I'm not a big fan of no hihats but this works perfectly. Plus it sounds like hats in the snares. Plus with the kicks being so lovely you wouldn't want to cover them up at all.

I think ALL my beats sounds simple actually. It often annoys me that it isnt obvious the work I put in but oh well, long as it sounds dope I guess...
Yeah, Ive been pullin the hats more and more these days, they not my strong side and they often takes up too much room and focus. You right bout the snares, I try n EQ them with some middle and air to not hafta add hats lol...

I love how obvious you kept the pitchin without losing touch with the melody - thats dope! oftentimes when people pitchshift this heavily they tend to step too far, creatin squeaky chops or ignoring a harmonic melodic structure...
Drums has a real live feel to em, which I normally hate, but this is one of them rare moments where I surrender! Nice metallic rides n snare...

Also, love how fat the bass comes thru (cheat), pumpin, only duckin for the drums!!!
And then you went and threw the strings on just for show lol...
IMO, the real challenge is in there between the melody and the drums, creatin that balance without sacrificin one or the other, you def. succeded at that -

I was really busy the week this challenge came up but this Sunday I decided to buckdown and work on this and last night I finished and came up with this.

I love it how your drums are usually maaad distorted and you aint give a shit lol – its becoming a trademark of yours and I mean that in a good way, adds to the raw factor!
The 1st part with the guitar loopin and then the drums kickin in are crisp!!!
Second part with the lopitched guit and the bass program at 1:17 – 1:22 is DOPE, loop that up and let that one ride man, sounds ill...
3rd part has the uptempo drums, took me back to earlier times... I aint never go there myself cause it tends to get hectic, but props on takin it on!
All in all, solid work - RAW sounds and 1 UP on the three piece!!!

Raw yeah I hear it cause it is, distorted drums yep but not on purpose (they were really distorted before I turned them down & lowered the efx on them) I think cause I like my shit loud in the headphones (which I should stop mixing my tracks in).
I wanted to just do one track (the second beat is the one I came up with first) but I just had so many other stuff I sampled I wanted to use them but not take another week seeing what layered well so I just did three raw tracks (decided to change up the bpm on them at the last minute).
One day I'll use a DAW to mix down my music instead of in the mpc cause I could use some compression here & there; your tracks always have that sound which I try to step up to but missing so I just go for whatever I'm in the mood before turning off the machine.

sorry for the late entry. gunna listen/feedback everyone elses later. it's gettin the professional vocal treatment by a friend of mine so this is my demo version.
