"Fallon Tonight: Week 41 (Andrae Crouch Week)"

my thing last year was a unique classic breakbeat per ep (exception to guest sit in songs)

this year imma see if i can last 42 weeks doing discography of an artist a week.

last week was Cypress Hill

this week: Andrae Crouch

maybe i should make it interesting: say if the Week's winner determines the next week feature?

meaning:

you choose the artist and for the 5 days in a week we do the song that is the 15 second "crossover" that happens right after Jim tells the last joke and walks to the desk.

lets see how it goes.

as long as y'all don't pick something strange i might let y'all figure out the 5 songs we do.

Why? I figure you he’s got his theme, so I’d put a song by Chula Vista’s own punk band – including Thomas Zinzer and Zak Smith from Three Mile Pilot. There’s a guy on your staff who either knows about it – or would love to know about it.

Charlie Day
Kraftwerk's "Boing Boom Tschak"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPqr1nw1imw
REASON: Because "Tschak" could sound like "Chuck" as in Charlie.

Jeff Musial
Bob Dylan's "Man Gave Name To All The Animals"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XN3ni0UygYI
REASON: Because he is the animal man. He will most likely get his usual song but if there's something new for 2015, I'll give this a shot. It's also funky in a Dylan way.

...my first thought was "anniversary albums?" Thought so many but the one that stuck out for me was 3 FEET HIGH AND RISING. No specific anniversary (it'll be the 26th in March) but to be able to hear "Three Is The Number" (on Wednesday, for the 3rd day of the week and of course the LZ beat being used in "Lesson 3") and "You Showed Me" (at regular speed and the 45 on 33) would be great.

My other thought, for the future, was SEX PACKETS, which will celebrate its 25th in March, and to be able to play Dexter Wansel's "Theme From The Planets" (for "Gutfest 89") would be incredible, bring the Philly vibe into things, especially with a horn section.

Anyway, I'll stay with De La Soul and/or just 3 FEET HIGH AND RISING.

Oh yeah, I also thought of the Geto Boys' debut for Def American, it too celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and... I'll stop now.

Ice Cube's AMERI... moving on.

Chris Hemsworth
INXS' "Original Sin"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTULqzrhBWA
REASON: 1) He's from Australia and 2) the lyric maybe can be changed from "dream of white cap, dream of black hat", in reference to his new film. Yeah, I know it reduces the serious topic to a movie reference but I'll keep it as is.

Sienna Miller

She's in AMERICAN SNIPER playing Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper)'s wife. You could rock out the intro with the "She said not now"

>Goop is her website.

First, let me say "Goop is not her website."

Or at least it wasn't -- originally.

Goop.com was registered originally as the website of actor Whitman Mayo , who you may remember as playing Grady Wilson on Sanford and Son, Grady, Sanford Arms, and Sanford.

I remember he appeared on Conan back in 1996 and announced that this was his website.

Here's a mirror/copy of that website: http://www.netcore.us/1/the_cape/whit/goop.htm

I asked him a question via his web site "Did you play grandpa on That's Cat?" and he replied that he did.

So could someone ask her about it on the show? Did she know Whitman Mayo? Is it a tribute? Did she have an affair with him?

Theme to Grady: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tugnqemIto
(not quite up to the level of The Streetbeater.)

Kevin Hart
Marty Robbins' "Ballad Of A Small Man"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoDR9GQ5XeM
REASON: It's because he is a short actor, but the first verse is perfect:
"He was a small man but this man was all man
He was accustomed to danger
He knew the badlands, he knew every bad man
This man was a ranger, ranger, ranger"

In other words, it's not meant to be demeaning, it just pokes fun at his height.

Jay Baruchel
Dan Fogelberg's "Looking For A Lady"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjiKDO-f7Yc
REASON: His new show is called MAN SEEKING WOMAN, and lyric is simple:
"Looking for a lady
I'm looking for a lady
to change my night to day".

Kevin Hart - "Frost Without You" by Kevin Hart (Robin Thicke parody)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOEvSPC7dVQ

I dunno if it's still cool since Paula left Robin, but this shit always cracked me up.

Jay Baruchel - "Everybody (Backstreet's Back" by the Backstreet Boys
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-M4o-5IYwo

From THIS IS THE END

(I am so bummed that Zep is on the no no list, because of Jay's role in ALMOST FAMOUS. I always love AF suggestions since Jimmy was in the film too)

Joshua Ryan Topolsky

Poison - Bell Biv DeVoe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6blgjF6UkU

Why? About three years ago on the "ThisIsMyNext" podcast he famously said "Using windows feels like poison" - which has brought a lot of ridicule and taunting.

And say " Windows is poison. Josh Tops hates poison. " (And then do a lot of "poison" ad libs.)

BIG GEEK CRED. IT'll stick on Reddit for at least 6 hours.

(If he doesn't get to walk out and the segment starts at a table then play this into commercial.)
-----
Brian Williams
Henry Mancini - Brian's Song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w26pW2Uz2-Y

Why? I think it’ll make the football fans over 35 cry.

Victoria Justice
The Kinks – Victoria
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VzsQoR806c

Why? Name game. (You played for Victoria Beckan all the way back on 2/15/2100)

In response to Reply # 5

Brian Williams
will.i.am's "I Am"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_5o1r4nqCA
REASON: I've suggested this song a number of times over the years, I'll try it with him, change the lyric to "Will.I.Am's, straight out of NIGHTLY, NIGHTLY", in reference to him being the host of NBC NIGHTLY NEWS.

Victoria Justice
The Good Gyrls' "Your Sweetness (Is My Weakness)"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UR1yoAwaiig
REASON: Her new show is EYE CANDY, thus a tie in with something sweet.

Brian Williams - "My Neck, My Back" by Khia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDJu7r6OUvk

Obvisously you have to edit, but in reference to: http://morningafter.gawker.com/while-you-watched-the-globes-allison-williams-got-her-1678892482

Victoria Justice - "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMICD3aMZpw

If no one is gonna go for the obvious, I guess I will. You could even drop the "want" and just elongate the "I" to "Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyye Candy."

Or go nuts and do MC Pee Pants "I Want Candy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRtV3s55rH0

In response to Reply # 0

How does this work? Do you want us to post one a week? Want us to post our lists at the bottom of this post with multiple suggestions? Is it first one to suggest all year, or will you apportion credit weekly? If it's one a week do we have to keep suggesting the same artist? Shoudl I stop worrying how it works and just have fun?

Assuming it's one a week for next week:
Bob James

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_James_%28musician%29

Take Me to the Mardi Gras (Without Bells Version for Biz)
Nautilus
Sign Of The Times (With the boingggggg.)
Angela
Look Alike
Blue Lick
Carribean Nights
Shamboozie
Feel Like Making Love (cover)
Tappan Zee
Westchester Lady
The Sponge
Storm King
Night on Bald Mountain

If you need another 10 it wouldn't be hard.
