there's a reason i preferred MJ's "bad" to LL Cool J's "bad." looking back, it couldn't have been for musical reasons.
i identified with MJ more than LL Cool J. that influenced my taste.
battle lines were drawn.
it has always been exactly like this. it hasn't changed at all.
ppl that market music know this. and tbh, even though i scrutinize media more then any normal person should, i still fall victim to it.
i am happy that dangelo has a number 1 album instead of, well, chief keef, to chose a random example. sure, i could say that i like dangelo better because his music is better.
but that wouldn't be the entire truth, now would it?

Yes because usually at adolescence we are overly concerned with fitting in, so when your friends clown you off listening to that "weird" music, if you aren't strong willed you end up just listening to what everyone else in your group listens to
