"did we discuss Timbaland (& Tink) on The Breakfast Club?"
i tried to watch the interview a couple days after it came out, but it was blocked by youtube because of music infrigement.
went straight to the breakfast club website today and man...
i did NOT expect this at all. i've pretty much written Timbo off, but i'll always watch an interview 'cause...it's Timbo. at any rate, the majority of the interview was spent talking about his new artist Tink. i had the "yeah, right, whatever" face on UNTIL he played her music.
he played the OG version of Movin' Bass that makes the Ross version w/Jay Z on the hook sound even lamer than it is. and the joints he played afterwards sound like...i can't even describe it. it just gave me that old feeling i got when listening to Timbo's music. i'm kinda excited about this project.

I can see being mad at someone stepping on one of the biggest collabs on your album and promoting it like someone else's single. She really only did the same shit other mixtape artists do.

But I do hope Tink gets the shot... it's so funny EVEN her name is like a early 2k Timbo/Missy artist name..

I'm going to give this^^^the side-eye....
On the real, this is why I'm worried about Tink's future...It's obvious to anyone who has working ears that this young lady is the real deal. Her voice is enthralling...Her cadence is flawless....And she seems equally at home singing as she does spitting, and not on some look-ma-no-hands pretension....She is indeed a star in the making, but more importantly she seems like someone that has her own space (and an artistic, out of the box chamber, much in the same way that Kendrick Lamar was able to do...)
The rub? Tink working with Timbaland may take some of her personality away. With the exception of a few joints ("Big Pimpin'" comes to mind...) I was never a huge fans of Timbo's "hip-hop" productions...I always dug his R&B (or R&B injected hip-hop) much more.
I think what Tink has to say doesn't fit with Tim's shiny production style....Maybe I will be proved wrong. But I hope that Tink doesn't get swallowed up by Tim's BIG sound...
GOAT of his era......long live Prince.....God is alive....

her voice reminds me of someone on one of Tim's early projects (from the Life in the Bassment album).
those clips he played didn't blow me away, but I liked seeing him so amped about his craft. I haven't checked for Tim productions in years even though he's one of my top 3, so Tink'll be a good excuse to plug back in.
