I already mentioned that in the post for the title track.

This is a definitely nod to 'Kast while putting his own stamp on hip-hop.

Mt. Olympus?!?!!? Good gawd he snapped.

that "GKMC vibe" you're talking about means that you're listening to an ALBUM and not a collection of songs...simple as that

strong in the end...but there are waaaay too many slow songs...feels like i'm listening to a smooth jazz/gospel album for 75% of the time...krit needs to lock himself in the closet and listen to "Krit wuz here" religiously 4 a week and remember what made him popular in the first place...i for one miss the energetic vibes of songs like "hometown hero" & "just touched down".

still better than that turd of a debut btw

Return, Country shit, Touched down, viktorious, see me on top are the high energy songs on Wuz Here. rest of it laid back. whole album is diverse.

just like Cadillactica and pretty much all his projects. that hasn't changed, imo. Its just more mature and polished musically.

if King of the South, Cadillactica, and Mt Olympus don't get you hype, idk what will, but if you looking for some angry rappity rappin, ion't know if you're gonna find it on a studio album from him

seemed like the first verse was pretty pointedly aimed at Kendrick.

add on that the last line of the last verse is "fuck that Control."

It's completely about the reaction to Control.

All this attention, I don't even know what I might even do with it
That Control beat is like an ugly bitch that everybody done fucked raw
Maybe you hit it
Aww man, I'm more concerned why niggas been textin' my cell, callin' my phone
Ask me about this Kendrick shit, that he ain't even really even diss me on

The rest of the song is about those who take southern style and then his doubters and critics who don't give him the respect he feels he deserves.
Did YOU listen to the lyrics?

that part is very obvious, it's what comes after that is the part about Kendrick himself. listen again. if you can't figure it out i'll listen and transcribe the lyrics for you.

edit: nvm. look em up on rap genius. http://rap.genius.com/Big-krit-mt-olympus-lyrics

the line about wearing a chain with another man's name it on it, but i'm the slave - that's a bar to Kendrick (TDE aka TOP DAWG is a person)

the part about being in school, not being used to fame (cuz Kendrick is a weird quiet dude) and swagger jacking, screwing up lyrics (Kendrick had a whole song - Drank, a southern term aka taking from these Southern artists - where the lyrics were screwed)

and about fooling people to thinking your music is innovative aka all the acclaim that Good Kid, MAAD City got.

i'm sure KRIT would deny all this, but he low-key didn't deny it on Combat Jack when Combat brought up the track he had on his album about Control.

then there's the whole calling Control an "ugly bitch everyone fucked" and "fuck a Control" i mean that's sort of a diss right there, no?

In response to Reply # 18

1. TDE doesn't have a chain.

2. The school part... eh... but I don't think anyone sees Kendrick as a thesaurus rapper. Doubt that's about him. And imo the swagger jacking is probably more directed at your Iggy Azaelias, ASAP Rockys, and those that actually are trying to sound Southern in their raps.

3. Again there are "targets" that make more sense than Kendrick.

The song is in a lot of ways about Control, but it's not about Kendrick. Even the lines "That control beat a bitch everyone done fucked raw" is about everyone feeling the need to record their response on that beat. And fuck a control is again about the reaction to that song... in an "I'm sick of being asked about it" way, imo.

i mean, i'm not saying i'm right and you're wrong.

i don't think the chain was meant in a literal way though (although i'm guess a chain or two exists SOMEWHERE).

i just really feel like KRIT felt some kinda way about Control despite the whole "well, he didn't REALLY diss KRIT" aspect, and KRIT kinda alluded to that on Combat Jack. maybe the more he sat with it he just stewed and got pissed off.

i dunno, the bars don't really fit anyone else to me so i'd be curious to hear your candidates.
