Just checking these numbers.. projections for this next week..
Tinashe who had a break out hit and number 1 song at Rhythmic will barely break 20k
BANKS had no radio single and did 22k
Ab Soul barely had a video and no radio record did 22k
Rittz did 22k without even blinking
Jhene is the only person to do decent at 70k first week.
The uncoupling of indicators for success is so interesting in this game now.
I definitely would've thought Tinashe would fair better but she hasn't had Jhene level exposure either (no drake tour)
There are obviously bigger artists doing bigger numbers that need top 40 radio. But if you can't get on top 40 radio its such a toss up..

It's just weird to think that a major label artist and someone on say Strange Music are selling the same thing first week...
Lets you know that it isn't solely just a money difference anymore between the entities.. and radio isn't the end all be all..
