I'll go ahead and make some tacit ones about yours: whether I had black yellow purple or glow in the dark children, I would not ever worry about the primary voice of masculinity or social responsibility coming from someone they only see on TV. in fact I dare say I'd be a lil too worried being a father to give a flying fuck what the Young Thug of 2024 had to say about anything.

who said that i expected young thug to be any voice of masculinity or responsibility?
i said YOU dont have a problem with someones BS answer because you dont have any black sons to worry about (which is true...hypotheticals dont count).

or killer mike? its not like thug is the biggest voice in rap anyway. i know were living in some apolitical times for music, but everyone knows half his rhymes arent really saying much. there are enough other rappers who do have something to say on this for me to be okay that thug doesnt.
Label me whatever, but I admit it, I do believe that people with influence on kids have some level of social responsibility, on some Spider-Man ish.
BUT at least he didn't pretend and try to make some stuff up. He coulda just declined to comment without the bit about havin fun and "gettin dis money" tho. THAT was disrespectful to anyone effected, including himself.

I have absolutely no expectations for him in any way, as an artist, or as a spokesperson for the Black youth. Look at him, and his whole image. Listen to him, and try to interpret his hook on "Lifestyle."
Seeing him say this didn't offend or surprise me, because I wasn't a fan to begin with...and even most of his "fans" don't follow him beyond music.
Now, if Drake said this? I'd be completely disgusted. Or Kendrick, J. Cole, KRIT, anyone in that lane. Even a 2 Chainz, Jeezy, T.I., Wayne, would surprise me. But Young Thug? They knew what they were doing by asking him the question...setting him up just to show "how ignorant and unaware these young thuggish rappers are."

They'd be wrong though. Names don't always reflect the content. Shoot, when I was coming up, the "gangsta" or "thug" rappers had some of the sharpest minds in the game.

Again, I don't expect him to be a spokesperson for anyone. I don't even expect him to be as sharp as the average Miss America contestant. But don't wallow in ignorance.

I haven't heard a note of his music. And it only offends me that there are people out there this dumb. He could spend his time rapping about isosceles triangle, gave this answer, and I'd be offended.

You know he doesn't have good answer to that question and he knows it too, you can see it on his face right after she asked. He could have tried to answer the question seriously but he probably would have made himself look even worse.
