and also Ghostface's 12 Reasons to Die, but he's done a lot of other things as well. Known for using live instrumentation.
I'm actually not really a fan, but I'm interested to see what Preem can do with it. Not really a big fan of Royces solo albums either, but I do enjoy him on features. Im looking forward to this, I think there's a lot of potential with these 3 working together.

that came out on Waxpoetic's records and he got some fame because his band Venice Dawn was sampled in Jigga's "Picasso Baby" & "Heaven" from his last album. Owns his own vinyl store. I'd describe him as a Soul producer with Hip Hop sensibilities.

For one, because they know he will clear the samples and at a reasonable price. Two, he uses vintage equipment and recording techniques that resemble samples. He doesn't replay samples tho, he has his own songs, instrumentals, and albums that like I said before that uses vintage gear. He 1st became known through producing the Black Dynamite soundtrack on Wax poetic records and has done quite a bit of projects since then.

I haven't been disappointed with an Adrian Younge project yet. It's cool to see him basically working with whoever he wants and not just trying to find the hottest dude to work with.

I could get excited about a Primo track, but, a full album of Primo beats? His production is just not layered enough for me. Alchemist can produce what Primo has to offer --- and more.

I think it's several things.
1.) He's a producer. I think that being a producer makes it easier to build relationships with other artists because there is more opportunity to work together.
2.) His fan base. Artists like to build with artists who have a strong fan base because they see an opportunity to build his own fan base. And I think a lot of his fan base does actually come from the white privilege. That being said...
3.) I think he really shows an appreciation for dope rap and a sincere desire to be a part of that lane. It's pretty notable that dude had all the opportunity in the world to just stick to frat rap, and that instead of taking that easy route, he's making a concerted effort to dig into this "real hip-hop" lane while still carving his own atmospheric rap niche. I think people respect that.
4.) He also has a work ethic. He really has gotten better over time, and people respect the dedication. I was actually impressed with his Faces tape this year, and I haven't been a fan at all before that.
