"Hip-Hop Orchestra Successfully Raises $27K to Rock @ Carnegie Hall!" Tue Sep-23-14 09:10 AM by Thee Phantom
Thee Phantom who combines the raw energy and passion of Hip-Hop, with the beautiful, sweeping melodies of live orchestration has had a long standing dream of rocking at Canegie Hall. Phantom wrote his first rhyme at the age of 8 and made his first beat by mixing the Beastie Boys' Paul Revere with Beethoven's 5th Symphony at age 13. A little over a month ago, he and his Illharmonic Orchestra launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund their own event at Carnegie Hall. The group is planning their B-Boy Meets Beethoven event for the Fall of 2015 and will embark on a College Tour with their first stop at Berklee College of Music on November 8, 2014. Phantom and the Illharmonic will be offering young musicians from across the globe the opportunity to send in video auditions to: illharmonic.booking@gmail.com for the chance to grace the Carnegie Hall stage with them. They will also be offering a portion of the proceeds from Carnegie's ticket sales to VH1's Save the Music Foundation, in an effort to inspire young musicians to chase their dreams.
