Madlib is such a tease. Wasting our time with these Quasimoto throw-away tracks. Nothing against Freddie Gibbs, but it didn't move me. The beats are one thing, but I can't vibe with the foul-mouth lyrics. Not nuanced enough. The weird Madlib production with Doom's nuanced flow is a match made in heaven. By now, they could've released a double LP (together). Give me the Madvillain.

but at this point, I want something more than crass drug/gun violence rap. Its too on-the-nose. I'm not offended by explicit lyrics. Its just that it seems trite to me. I'm 36 years of age, btw. I'm not ashamed. I'm grown. I can appreciate when a rapper utilizes a broad vocabulary. To each his own.
Death Grips is more nuanced. MC Ride doesn't have to use "fuck, nigga" in every sentence. His lyrical content is very subversive. I didn't say "this music is better than that music". Its just more preferable (to me).

>i was just about to listen to this shit too... hope its not >that bad
It's not earth-shattering genre-defining material, but it's not all that bad either. It could have used more Doom raps, but the kid rhyming over the beats isn't that bad as the original post suggests.
