Absolutely ridiculous. I used to think Killer Mike sort of had a basic nursery rhyme-like flow, but his stuff for Run the Jewels is just both beastly and smooth at the same time. He and El-P seem to have really great chemistry and compliment each other well with their different styles.
And I'll say it once again: I think El-P is probably the best musician/artist in general and in hip-hop the last 20 or so years.
They just posted saying it's because the vinyl is heavy and UPS charges by weight, but I don't really buy it.

this was on the Fool's Gold label, so I was able to cop the limited edition vinyl at the Brooklyn storefront they had. I'm not aware of this Mass Appeal label having a store front and amazingly, brick and mortar CD stores outside of Best Buy are rare here in NYC. I think I might have to bite the bullet and go to the concert in NYC to try and cop the instrumental vinyl.
Hopefully Despot will be there so him and El-P/Killer Mike can do Tough Cold Killer live.

I'm seriously considering dropping major coin for that instrumental vinyl. The almost $20.00 shipping charge is a bit much though.

And in regards to the pre-release stuff people mentioned, the $250.00 package is actually sold out. Only 20 packages according to the website, but still.
FOR THOSE WONDERING ABOUT SHIPPING COSTS: we know its rough. basically all the vinyl is heavy as fuck and most packages come with t shirts etc so it goes up according to weight. we try to work around it but are shackled to the service we get. if you can't afford it that way i suggest buying it at a show. anyway thanks for your support no matter what your choice.

It was clearly just tossed out there as a dumb idea that nobody would actually pay for. But then someone got it going. Now, with Alchemist, Just Blaze, etc. getting on board, it's turned kind of interesting? Plus all the money donated to families of those affected by police abuse of power? Can't be mad at that. But it's still beats made of cat sounds..... I mean, might have to give it a listen once just to hear what they'll come up with, but on a whole not going to get much play. Just an example of a dumb idea, and getting your (El-P) bluff called, so then sticking to your end of the deal, and a bunch of your famous friends will help you out....

if i didn't judge things i haven't heard i would have to listen to every single note of music ever made in order to decide what music is worth my time & money
even the most half assed music fan is proficient at judging various aspects of unheard music (artist, style, reviews, description, album cover, tracklist, info about production, sound, etc) to determine what they do & don't have time for
