Biggie was on fire, of course, but he at best just matches Nas on that end; meanwhile, Puffy's ragtag team dig a good job, especially Mo Bee, but it ain't exactly Pete/Premier-in-their-prime good.

if it wasn't apparent, I prefer Illmatic.
But I don't think RTD is a bad album. Of "mainstream/popular" MCs, Biggie might be one of my favorites because despite some of the production he was on, he really had a "head's" sensibility.
I "believe" him more than I do a Jay-Z, for example.

back THEN? Or that it hasn't aged nicely enough? Either way, Jones is my favorite rapper so there that is...I'm just tryna understand, some of the rationale.

>side question? > >if you had to make RtD into 10 tracks, which ones?
Asking this about other classic albums to see if we feel any would then top Illmatic.

As an aside, I don't think that the album needs to be trimmed to ten cuts to be great. Shoot, I still think "Dreams" and "C'mon Motherfuckas" should have been the album. Replacing the not-so-good cuts with better ones would have been an improvment.
