I was just wondering does anyone in the lesson listen to the jazz pianist Gerald Clayton (he has played on various Roy Hargrove albums)? One of my friends just put me onto him and his (3) albums are really amazing. I can't remember the last time I listened to an album and was completely blown away like I was when I listened to Bond: The Paris Sessions the other week. Maybe he is well known to jazz fans around here and I was just out of the loop (as I often tend to be in terms of modern jazz), but god damn I'm glad I was finally put on.
Here is his fantastic, relatively introspective/melancholic sounding (in comparison to how this is usually played, I was introduced to this tune by the miles quintet version) version of "If I were a bell" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT0XZghzzIY
and here is him live playing some originals/a few known songs

Kamasi Washington - sax player. In a band called Young Giants. From LA. Also in the band is Thundercat on bass, I think his brother, Ronald Bruner, is the drummer.
Taylor McFerrin plays the piano.
Marcus Gilmore plays the drums.
Those are just people I know because of the Brainfeeder label.

though I prefer his older trio stuff to his black radio stuff, which is odd because I honestly only got into him AFTER Black Radio was released....Double Booked is really good
