"Listened to Gil Scott's Reflections (81) for the first time today..."
Man, it's pretty sad how relevant the entire second side of the album is 34 years later.
"Money can buy anything Including a slice of ‘the American Dream’? Yeah, answer ads in the paper about ‘houses for sale’ And get treated like Charles Manson out on bail When you start to get frustrated by the tactics they use"
"Everybody got a pistol, everybody got a .45 And the philosophy seem to be, At least as near as I can see, When other folks give up theirs, I'll give up mine.
This is a violent civilization; If civilization's where I am. Every channel that I stop on Got a different kind of cop on Killing them by the million for Uncle Sam."
"B" Movie is just an absolute fucking jam. Mad that I slept on this album, I stuck to the 70s stuff and Brian Jackson collabs. Gil was that fucking dude, man.
