so.....I see that Raheem Devaughn got a song and a half on the Roots last album.....which brings them back to using more male singers. why not lead? I think that even extends the Roots audience if they have a regular singer. I know that BT can sing a little but he doesnt do it much on Tonight Show or on the albums anymore.......am I missing something? I have wondered that since he sung the U2 tribute at Essence awards a few yrs back.

Dice is more hit than miss, but not by much. For the first time in years, the roots have released an album with a song that i dont like and its that Black Rock shit on the last album. what was he singing?

dice is kinda like shane macgowan in that he doesn't necessarily have a great singing voice, but he makes it work. sometimes i wish they would just bring in a singer for live shows but that doesn't happen often unless they have a special guess.

but he is such an incredible talent I really would like to see/hear more from him. People have said he doesn't have the best voice but seeing what he does to a live crowd with his guitar, voice and overall charisma, I do believe he could be massive in his own right! (I would like to enforce the fact that I definitely do not want a split though!)
