I am also very cautiously optimistic about this album...

I gave up at the red album, downloaded it and erased it from my computer on the same night. Thats the only time I have ever done that, and I have barely even checked for them recently. But the weezer wednesday videos have me pretty excited:

I didn't, because it was the first time that I thought they were abandoning their sound, maybe I should revisit though... My third favorite is Maladroit. Weezer sound plus shredding... thats pretty much what I expect this album too, with a more polished studio sound.

They (almost) always have great lead singles. The past few albums have been largely forgettable. I dig this single though.

It sounds kind of green albumish, but better because its not quite as formulated aka the guitar solo isn't just the melody like EVERY single solo on green album.

after hanging out with an old college buddy swearing that the other fallen 90's Soldier, Smashing Pumpkins, also wrote a good album in 2014.

It's got some flaws (Back to the Shack sucks) but yeah, this is the best album they've dropped since the 90's.
