its been a while, dont get the time to visit the boards like i used to but I hope all is well with you and yours
I finally managed to see Prince recently after being a fan for 31 years, and he did not disappoint. Took my 14 year old son too, his first concert, think I might've set that bar a little high
Anywho had been playing P moreorless non stop since and hadn't done a new mix since last Novembers Dilla mix so it felt like time to try and get creative again
I also posted a mix over on Soundcloud i made a couple of years ago, a summer mix but it rained a lot so I never bothered posting it, you might like that one too

yeah, but can you imagine the Purple Rain tour???? OMG. i hate that i didn't even bother my parents to try to go to that. then again, it sold out in record time.

yeah, Lovesexy was excellent. Musicology was dope. that happened right after he supposedly took the hiatus from playing the "hits" on tour. thank God.

I'd go 86/87 era over PR all day long, that Detroit Birthday show in 86 is my favourite live performance of all time

the show I went to was mainly hits but the arena was filled to capacity (21,000+) so it was never going to be b-sides and my favourite album cuts so i went with no expectations of that. That said the version of Something in the Water was breathtaking

But, after hearing about how raunchy his stage show was, they didn't take me and took a friend of theirs (I was like 5 or 6, so understandably so). They bought me an AT-ST to try to make up for it.

My brother won tickets to the PR tour from WHYT back in the day. I wanted him to take me. I was 8 at the time. Instead he took a girl down the street he liked. 8 year old me didn't understand. LOL!

First Tour I caught was the Jam of the Year Tour at Pine Knob in '97. It was a bit underwhelming. Especially since I just saw Maxwell and Zhane a day before at The State Theater and they put on an amazing show. Me hyping up in my head my first Prince concert coupled with Prince phoning it in a bit, left me unimpressed.
But after that, all the Prince shows I’ve seen have been satisfying. With the Musicology show in Staples Center being the best.
