thats when I knew that these guys aint fuckin around. I don't think they concern themselves with album sales. Stefan seems to be a man of minimal needs. A true nihilist. He most likely will want nothing more than 6 beggars carrying his casket when he dies. Even Zach once said that they know how to survive off the fat of the land. Money "problems" don't seem to worry them. They make money from touring, some merchandise, and maybe a commercial or two.

Btw I thought I saw Stefan walking on the street last week here in Sac. It was like 100 degrees outside and dude had on a black hoodie and black pants!

On their glitchiest past releases (Money store, Gov Plates) there was always a solid almost dance music foundation that would help keep the songs on the rails.
Here it seems they were more concerned with choppping up bjork vocal samples then making 'songs', which is unfortunate since Bjork's voice is such a great instrument on its own and has an innate sense of pop and songcraft. Only song thus far I feel the project comes together is 'Black Quarterback'.

The 2nd half of it is bland. That song about MC Ride fuckin is.... strange. Not feelin it. And was he having an orgasm during the song? The first 4 songs are awesome. I really love "Up my sleeve", "Billy not really", and "Say Hey kid". Very quirky and abrasive songs with colorful samples. This is how I rank DG's albums: 1. Ex-military 2. Government Plates 3. The Money Store 4. No Love Deep web
I don't listen to NLDW much... mainly because the whole album feels claustrophobic. Its too serious and "rappity" (compared to their other material, which is more quirky yet multi-layered).

The first half is really good IMO. This album feels like a sequel to Government Plates sonically....which is OK.

I still put No Love Deep Web over all the others. This album's better than Gov't Plates to me but not the rest.

NLDW is an extremely dark and aggressive album. Angry, too. Ofcourse, thats the beast in DG's music, in general. Take it or leave it. NLDW feels way more "noided" than their other albums. I love anything that they give us. Regardless of how I rank it. Govment Plates is such an awesome fuckin album. Its brutal and lively at the same time. It also has some of their best songs. No other artists' production gives me the same feeling that DG gives. They're so nuanced, that even their humor is hysterical (if you catch it, and if thats your bag). I can't fuckin wait until they release the 2nd album of "The Powers that b".
