I'm wondering if he means the newer 120bpm, 117bpm or half time 100bpm stuff..

That shit can be dope.. but it definitely DRAGS sometimes

That stuff is still hard for me to get into. I guess most of it is either way too ignorant or nothing exciting musically or shit even both.

I think best example of what you might be talking about is "Worst Behaviour" but let's be honest that's just an incredible track...

What spawned this halftime shit? Meek's "levels"?

I've been consistently taken aback by beats from Lex Luger, Southside, Metro and TM88 since they first appeared. And whenever Jaye Neutron, London on da Track or Tarentino pop up they tend to come legitimate as well. Same for Purps, I think I like his solo beats a lot more than the Prince 'n' Purps stuff (anyone know if Prince still produces?).

That HPG crew is another good one. DJ Spinz, Dun Deal, Childish Major and C4. They've all taken the blueprint Zaytoven and Drumma Boy (and Juicy J, DJ Paul, DJ Toomp and all the rest) laid and done awesome things with it.

don't a lot of beats FEEL faster when in fact they're in the low 80bpms??? ...while theres some others that may be high 90bpms and you would swear they're not that fast..

this is just something i noticed when serato came out and you start seeing bpms for everything instead of just knowing what tracks mix well with each other...

like Ne-Yo "One in a million" at 100 BPM, and someone will be like "can you play something faster than this, like...Back that ass up?" which is 96 BPM. Or..."Pop that" which is aaaaall the way down at 70.

But for a lot of those "Pop that" type tracks, it feels more like 140 than 70 when you're in the club
