dude had an unparalleled prolific run of originality, quality, fearlessness, high profile placements with a lot of the top players of the time and most importantly, hit records.
he broke acts, he made acts, he supplied hits.
he had rap/r&b #1's on the billboard hot 100 before it became common.
a lot of his beats were truly "epic" © the internet circa 2010
they all still bang and were so intricately programmed and mixed so well that they have aged better than pretty much everything else that was out at the time.

dude just simply making more exciting music than anyone else during that period.

maybe any rap producer, ever.

there's no other super-producer in rap's history who covered as many bases as he did in 99-01.

but do you ever see him in anyone's "top 5" lists online?

FLAMES. Particularly when he worked with Missy on the front end or on the songwriting side of things.

Showed cats very early on that sampling laws doesn't have to mean the death of beats that KNOCK.

He CAME UP when no one was paying attention to sample free CDs though..

Still ridiculously talented but he definitely hit an untapped source for a good amount of tunes..
