RZA and Raekwon Call Truce, Hit Studio to Record Verses For New Wu-Tang Clan Album By Jeremy Gordon May 12, 2014 at 11:11 a.m. CT
Over the last few weeks, RZA and Raekwon have traded words in the press about Wu-Tang Clan's new album, A Better Tomorrow, which is supposed to come out this year. Raekwon said he was "on strike" from the group, and that he hadn't recorded any verses for the album because he doesn't agree with RZA's direction. In response, RZA said that if Raekwon refused to contribute, the album might not come out at all.
Now, it seems a truce has been struck. A brief note was posted to the group's website:
"Breaking news : Raekwon and Rza truce : Raekwon scheduled to hit studio to complete verses for album : A Better Tomorrow"
Details coming! It's not much to go off of, but it's an improvement. Previously, Raekwon was asked to rank, on a scale of 1-10, the chances of him appearing on A Better Tomorrow. "We at a two right now," he said. "It’s like climbing up a fuckin' mountain if you got on slippers. "
