You know what precedes a discussion post. Album doesn't come out until middle June. That sucks.

Unfortunately I think this album sucks too and the Antlers have jumped the shark big time.

Saccharine Disney-ish type vibes. "Burst Apart" was one of my favorites of the last several years so that's a bummer.

Familiars has a country and western vibe to it

very slowed down tempo on the entirety of the album

great for a drive through the desert (my weekend)

maybe down time around the house

kinda ehh overall for me

not much differential between each song

where Hospice maximized the effect of an album's worth of songs sounding the same

Familiars does not.
