back when I used to produce rap shows.
I think they really kinda inspired Geo to really get the Blue Scholars thing going cuz Geologic was one of the dudes who used to throw shows with us...they had that natural Filipino connection. If my memory serves me, Blue Scholars was just kind of an idea w/ him an Sabzi...like they were just kinda feeling each other out around that time.
Super cool dudes. Glad they are all doing well. I know Chops still does his thing on the beats.

Yeah that Asian hiphop/spoken word community of the late90's/early00's was pretty close knit around the country, especially here in the Bay Area. Looking back, it was kind've an interesting period...Asian-American college identity in the days of early internet.
But God, so much earthtone...lol.

A friend of mine got me into them back in high school (early 00s). It was nice seeing Asian American bros doing their thing in hip-hop, and of course it fit into the underground style that I was way into at the time. I didn't care so much that CHOPS didn't sample, but I guess some people found that to be cool.
Peril-L is a medical researcher now, and like someone else mentioned Styles Infinite is a M.D. I remember reading about CHOPS doing some stuff for Lonely Island a couple of years ago.
