as being an artist that completely changed the course of rap music?

whether you like it or not, in retospect i think his name has to be mentioned with run-dmc, rakim, biggie, dmx, 50, etc.

especially down there vs. up here.

i mean i pretty much pretended he didn't exist.

but when you're looking at rap music in the 00's, you can't explain the rest of the decade after "laffy taffy" without properly putting his impact into perspective.

he belongs on a very exclusive list of acts that broke the mold of what came before them and changed what came after them...

the fact he was wack as fuck is irrelevant to the point.
