http://itsthisisda.com/about/

ThisisDA (pronounced This is D.A.) is the stage name of David Aidoo; a 19 year old English Hip-hop musician. ThisisDA’s long awaited debut album ‘Super Arkane’ was released on February 25th 2014 as a free download via the artist’s official website, and was met with critical acclaim. The music video for the lead single ‘Lifers’ premiered on Noisey on the artist’s 19th birthday and subsequently found its way on to the TV playlist for French alternative music channel, OFIVE TV. The second visual offering from the album, ‘Gridlock’, was released toward the end of January 2014.

but also hard to muster much enthusiasm for.

If you dig this, I'd look into Cutta Chase. Respectable, if predictable, UK boom bap.
