"Best Mos Def/Yasiin Bey Verse?"

I was going to do a poll but I want to be more inclusive and open up discussion.

This post stems from non-stop plays of Yasiin Gaye.

So what's your favorite? What's his best?

Thieves In The Night?

Mathematics?

Hurricane?

Go!

but damn, asking what's the best Mos verse is like asking what Primo's best beat is, just way too much greatness to pick one

Beef is not what Jay said to Nas
Beef is when working people can't find jobs

That verse is just too real and a slap on the face to be ignorance in Hip-Hop.

Love it

His adherence to the rhyming scheme for the song and his flow are top notch.

Off topic, but I just went back to looked up the Pharcyde/Tribe mash-up done by the same folks that did the Mos Def/Marvin Gaye mash up and this shit is pure bliss so far.

I wish the guy that did the Yasiin Gaye joint put Mos Def's Hurricane verse and Nas' Last Words verse on that song.

For the longest I've been saying those two verses go together so well conceptually that it may be the best song lyrically if they were together.

Kweli had a great verse there as well.

As far as Mos though, I also like the one verse on Revelations

Mos has a ton of great verse, but that verse is one of the greatest verses ever and murders every other verse he's spit by a landslide.

He's the perfect emcee for this type of post tho:

Mathematics comes to mind, probly the 2nd verse.

Someone above mentioned Two Words, GREAT call. I love that verse and feel like it doesn't get the credit it deserves.

I think I may have to go with his verse on Hata Playas. "Visions occupy my synaptic space..."

So dope.

I'm confused as to why that version was never released. It's exceptional. It sounds like Mos is actually crying at the end. I found it years ago, but have since misplaced the audio.
