He even explained that he wanted to match the *flow*, not to provide a counter- or backing-rhythm. When a rapper raps, he is essentially using his voice as a rhythm-instrument and the best way to break down flow is actually to think of the syllables as percussive hits (the delivery would then best be explained by the intensity of said hits I guess) which is pretty much what he is doing here with the caveat that I only watched the "Twinz"-example; what the fuck is the problem with that?
Had he played a counter-rhythm, he obviously wouldn't have matched the flow and he would not have illustrated the rhythmic aspect of rapping but instead just played a beat....
