So Big Pooh appears to have signed a two release deal with the "other" MMG: the first is entire album produced by Nottz, the second is an EP with beats handled by the label's in-house producers (I imagine guys like Oddisee, Apollo Brown, etc.)
Here's the press release -
Those new to Rapper Big Pooh have a lot of listening to catch up on, from his start the legendary group Little Brother, to more recent work with Kendrick Lamar. Mello Music Group first worked with Big Pooh in 2009 on a song with Georgia Anne Muldrow and MED titled Endure and then for the track Drugs Outside with Oddisee and Black Milk. MMG is excited to finally have Rapper Big Pooh working with the squad in 2014.
Also, anyone else check for Mello Music Group's "Mandala" vol. 1 and 2 compilations? They're pretty good. Besides most of the MMG roster/collaborators, they feature tracks with artists like Fredro Starr, MURS, Mr. Lif, Blueprint, Akil from J5, John Robinson, etc. Each feature some dope instrumental tracks as well. Their "Self Sacrifice" comp from 2012 might be a little better, but both of them are pretty damn good.
