What happened w/ that UCLA Blu project? I'd much rather hear him on this track. Or DOOM but I'm not holding my breath for that Madvillain sequel anymore either.

Like aside from a couple of joints here an there, the only tracks I like by him are the ones with Madlib.
I like his flow, but I need to hear him on production that matches his grown man presence. Madlib does that for him... most other producers' beats sound too small for him or something. Hard to explain.

well it did he fits on those kinds of beats or whatever but is clear he's more versatile than that ESGN just seemed so small time compared to some of the other stuff he's done.

with the different kind of angles he'd come from, some of those beats were totally in line with Curren$y's direction. But then he signed to CTE and it's been straight up trap music with a couple distractions ever since. Might be part of why I love the Statik Selektah EP so much too. I think Gibbs sounds great over a wide variety of beats, but least of which might be the stuff that's most in vogue currently.

His drowsy flow definitely works on this beat, but it's become the only way he ever raps and doesn't fit with everything. Would be dope if Madlib blessed him with 12 laid back tracks like this. That would be some good listening.
