This isn't the first time I've heard him shit on the Shazzy album. Or the second LONS album. I've read him talk about how much he disliked the Hard 2 Obtain album. He used to talk about how much he didn't like Del's second album, but I think he came around on that when they interviewed him for the 20 year anniversary.
I get it, because in these cases he A&Rd these albums, and a lot of them were commercial flops. And he did have success in getting non-pop hip-hop groups to sell reasonably well back then. But "Black Bastards" is one of the few non-commercial hits that he was involved with that I've heard him speak of well.

At times it's embarassing (the Dante Ross "Colors" thing) but the rest of time it's just mildly annoying (e.g. not asking questions that they should, messing up song titles and dates, etc).
As has been said in this post already the main draw of these podcasts is the guests. I've listened to most Juan Epstein episodes with a guest but the ones with just them I never ever listen to.

I never took issue with Serch misremembering a few stories. Shit happened decades ago, so there are bound to be a few mistakes here and there. This kind of makes Dante getting checked shortly after, funny to me.
