Think about it. Chuck D, Ice Cube, Big Daddy Kane. You could make an argument that that is 3 of the 10 best rappers ever. Hell, 3 of the top 5. There could be disagreements, but nobody could really tell you that you're wrong if you made that argument. And there's nobody else with a lower status or ability on the song. Just 3 of the absolute best at or close enough to their peaks, and that's it.

I can't think of another song with 3+ rappers on it, with a stronger lineup.

Any candidates out there? 3 or more legit hall of famers. No wack rappers(obviously). No mediocre rappers. No simply "good" rappers. 3 or more of the absolute elite rappers on it, and nobody else!!??

I'm not saying it's the GOAT song or anything, or even the greatest performances by all dope rappers on a song(IMO Cube's verse was just there, but with one great line). But Chuck/Kane/Cube. Back then. In their primes. Give me a better LINEUP. Is there one?

LOT of killer lineups out there. wasn't around for Kane's prime but Burn Hollywood Burn is in there and it's one of the few I gave a perfect 5 to so it's definitely hard to fuck with, but I'm not sure I could ever pick out the one lineup that got me more excited, on paper, than any other. AT THE TIME, probably that Clipse track.

A line-up of KRS, Kool Moe Dee, Stetsasonic, MC Lyte, D-Nice, Just Ice, Doug E. Fresh, Heavy D, and Chuck D, all in their prime, is pretty hard to fuck with. I guess Ms. Melodie would be the weak link, but her verse fine on it.

Really, Ace isn't quite either even though he's a great rapper with a fantastic career.

Sure 2/3 or 3/3 of the certifiable top 5/top 10 of all time guys on the track may have been past their career peaks, but they all came with it.. Over a good to great Primo beat.

Verbal Intercourse - NAS, Rae, Ghost all in their primes over a classic RZA beat produced at his creative peak. Most put NAS up there, many put Ghost, and Chef is on a few lists (hardcore Wu Stans). This is more of a classic song as opposed to a lineup of GOATS, but it's definitely debatable.

Got My Mind Made Up - PAC, Red, Meth, Kurupt.. and Daz.

The Anthem - The Wake Up Show f/KGR, Eminem, Monch, RZA.. and Chino, Jayo, and TechNyne.


All debatable when considering the OP's criteria; however mrhood's suggestions of Self Destruction is pretty undeniable. Not a trio of GOATS, a whole herd. The Symphony is a classic, and KGR and BDK are undisputedly great.. Ace is a fave, but..

Kane, Chuck, and Cube were all in or very close to being in their primes.

If KRS, Rakim, and a young Nas had been on the same track in '92 or something, that's different.

Good one. Close. Rae is a hall of famer, but not quite to the level of Cube/Chuck/Kane, IMO.

See this was one of many tracks that came up when I was racking my brain for something on that level, before I made the post. Kurupt killed it and is/was a great rapper but not really a heavyweight on that level. And obviously Daz, dope producer and I like him well enough as a rapper, but he's not up there as an MC.

I love Rae, and think he's a great rapper still.

But I never saw him as being on the level that Cube, Kane, and Chuck were in their primes. Even when Rae had the best album out with OB4CL, I still didn't quite see him on that level. He's an A- type, where Chuck, Kane, and Cube were A+'s.

Not hating. It's all opinion and personal taste.

I just never personally had Chuck up there like that.
