Someone described this as "Bratz: the album."

I actually prefer their drone-y and weirder stuff more than their jam-y tracks, but we'll see.

you'll probably like the 2nd half more then.

A return to "old" Liars, but with a sharp electronic dance streak; Vox Tuned reminds me of the Presets.

I was hoping a bit more harsher soundscapes like the one off warning shot single of "I Saw You From The Lifeboat", but fuck it, this is fun.

other night i was out drinking with a friend, and it's late and us and the bartender are only ones left (weeknight).. and we're doing shots and talking music and i say something like "i already missed that window, but i always thought it would've been cool to cramp up in a van with 2-3 other musicians and do a mini-tour for like 2 weeks" and bartender says something like "yeah, it could be great, but from my experience it also can be awful". so of course i ask name of his band in case i've heard of them..."this band called 'Liars'?"--it was pat, their bass player from the first (and 2nd?) album. i let out a "wait..what?" ..and then tell him i saw him like 12 years ago (black cat in DC i think).

both are Omaha natives and none of their other bands have really taken off like Liars has or anything even close and they've played both together and apart since, but that was a super killer rhythm section and I'm sort of bummed out they're more a part of the L.A./New York scene than the Omaha scene, I'd love to see them in a bitchin' regional band like so many of our other cool rock musicians these days.
