The Last Poets

etc. you know forefathers of hip hop.

I still haven't seen any literature addressing the history of "American" (aka Black) music like Blues People.

He recorded with Sun-Ra, playwright etc. etc.

get it together.

Especially considering he appeared on a Roots album.

Definitely one of the most important progenitors of that thing we ended up calling hip hop.
