"ID a late 90s/early 2000s rap song for me, please."
I wasn't really a big hip hop head then, so excuse me if this was made by some sacred group. I'm just going off a faint memory, so even if it was someone that I'm a fan of now, I wouldn't know it.
*Very prominent bass line. Pretty funky. (I don't even remember if the song was any good, but the bass has been randomly popping up in my head for years.) *Forgive my labelling, but the song and the look of the group had an "alternative" feel, similar to De La Soul around that same time. I know their catalogue quite well, though, and I'm almost positive it wasn't them. Maybe someone who's with Hiero or something? *It got mild rotation on whatever BET's rap video show was at the time, but definitely wasn't sniffing MTV. I remember Dr. Dre's "The Next Episode" video was also in roto that same summer. *It was pretty goofy...they were dressed up as waiters, and standing in spoons rapping and stuff. It wasn't parody-level silliness, though. Like I said, very De La in style.
