Tonedeff does nothing but hurt himself with the way he releases music. These EPs were supposed to be quarterly, if I remember correctly. It's been over a year since the first one, hasn't it? It's too bad because he's very talented. Used to be a favorite of mine.

He's super talented. More than just a fast-rap gimmick.
When it comes to flows and lyrics, he's in another class.
I think that's why songs like this, while impressive, kind of disappoint me. It's not something I'd listen to too much beyond the initial "wow" factor.
I respect that as an artist, he really just does what he wants. No one expected Glutton, and some like myself weren't feeling it. But it's cool that he doesn't cater to fans or critics.
I hate to sound like the typical QN5 fan but Chico & The Man is still what I'm waiting for. Songs like "My Lady" is what I come to him for. Not saying that's all he should do though, just my preference.
Also, they said CATM was finished, but they wanted it to receive the attention it deserved. It's odd that he's releasing these 4 EPs (collected as one album) so spread out and investing so much time in it while the hype for CATM dies down.
Sometimes with artists like him, it seems they have so much they want to do, they end up not doing a lot. His last album came out in 2005! This 4 EP idea, which will create one album, is kind of a cool concept. But the first edition of it came out almost a year ago. At this point I'm just like dude it's been 8 years since your last album, stop over-thinking things trying to do something different and just release some music.

the only thing I don't like about "fast for the sake of being fast" rap is not being able to understand all the words... like if you asked me to transcribe that shit I'd be stuck after 3-4 bars.
that said, I dig the DNB feel of this track. reminds me of some MC Dynamite / roni size stuff

But if you've ever liked Tonedeff as a solo artist at all, the EP as a whole is easily one of the best, maybe even THE best thing he's released...You owe it to yourself to check it out
