"Best rap live albums?" Mon Dec-09-13 08:15 PM by justin_scott
obviously, Live Hardcore Worldwide, The Roots Come Alive, and Jay's Unplugged. I haven't heard Cypress Hill live at the fillmore (is it dope?). I remember buying De La's Live at Tramps and the sound was so horrible I couldn't listen to it.
What else is there?
p.s. mostly looking for official releases, but bootlegs are welcome too, as long as the sound is great.

1. the roots -- the roots come alive (simply amazing. hell, the liner notes ALONE are worth the purchase) 2. bdp -- live hardcore worldwide (along with TRCA, this is arguably the greatest live rap album ever. Sound is so crisp and clear) 3. dj quik -- live at the house of blues (that horn section, and quik is sooooo clear and concise vocally!!!) 4. cypress hill -- live at the fillmore (just as dope as quik's live album, but quik has a better setlist and of course, quik has that horn section) 5. jay z -- unplugged 6. kanye west -- late orchestration 7. doom -- live from planet x (honestly, i never really got into doom, so i haven't heard the studio versions of these songs, but the live album sounded very nice, though it would have been way better with more crowd noise/participation) 8. Public Enemy -- Fight the Power: Greatest Hits Live (would be higher on my list, but the vocals arent crisp enough, at least on the version i heard)

Will Sessions -Real Session ( Phat Kat, Guilty Simpson, Black Milk, Elzhi.) This album is really nice. I was lucky enough to see some of these shows live. Will Sessions puts on a great show.
