"DOPE Interview with Grap Lover the Younger Soul Brother"
Me and my Writer's Bench squad had a chance to sit down and chop it up with Grap Lover where dude tells some CLASSIC hip hop stories about how how he got into hip hop, how Pete Rock made the beats for Heavy's Big Tyme album using pause tapes, how he ended up with his verse on the Basement, the hoopla around why INI's debut album never dropped and how he connected Little Brother to Pete Rock to how Pete Rock and CL Smooth started out as a 3 man crew, how the Pete and CL break up affected him, if he's still rhyming and making beats and how the day went when Pete Rock made the beat for the remix for Das EFX's real hip hop. Plus you get to hear Grap play some bangers live right out the SP1200!

I appreciate you taking time to check out the show fam! Yeah...half of the time none of us agree but I don't think we've done an episode where I haven't learned something or at least saw things from another perspective. Good Looking again!

no disrespect 'cause i know you said he's your boy and all, but Andres gave himself away when he said ice t "looks like somebody who plays a new york city cop" and "color is a popular song, but other than that..." To say that ice t wasn't being felt except for "colors" is just wrong. and then to say that "death row" put him on to hip hop and that dogg pound is the first west coast album he got into just doesn't cut it for me.
and then he didn't know who rasco is....i mean i can list a bunch more things.
y'all need someone from the west that actually grew up in the 80's to speak on west coast hip hop.
and the nas/dead prez shit was fully explained and wasn't ghostwriting in any way (unless you honestly believe nas and stic man are liars)

I feel you fam...I sometimes forget that Andres is about 8 years younger then me and I think he gave a dope perspective of the West for his age bracket but yeah, we'd love to do another show with a cat who's more in the rest of the Bench's age bracket (38-42) so if you know anybody who'd be down to sit in and chop it us with us inbox me and let me know. Good looking!
