For me the first 2 Dru Down albums (or one if you wanna call it that) did that for me. They personified Oakland in that 93-95 era. What him and the Luniz were talkin about and the way they rapped was hella Oakland to me. I could picture Oakland very clear when I heard them albums. To me it was real natural they way they did it too. It wasn't contrived or anything like that. Especially the Luniz on that album....they reminded me of regular everyday Town cats and experiences in Oakland. I heard that album when I was outta town. That Explicit Game album had me hellllla homesick. I couldn't wait to get back to The Town.

Honorable mention to that Luniz EP and the first few tracks The Coup album Genocide & Juice.
