project is name your price aka free. trap-ish beats, angst fused raps. even if you're not feeling the beats, james (nocan) goes hard lyrically. i love it, esp "i guess so." check out james' verbals on "no sweat."
also, check out open mike eagle's "rappers will die of natural causes." mike has been murdering guest verses, and this is no different.
i've been a fan of Self Jupiter since Freestyle Fellowship. Was surprised to see Volume 10 on "the kleenrz." i love the beat on "best served cold." in fact, that might be my favorite song off the album. Either that or "filthy." i love the piano on "filthy." i liked the album, but honestly it didn't blow me away. it was just good. not great, but solidly good. i've only listened to "city lights" off "the kleenrz remixes."

All these cats keeping bus on his toes. I was worried before flash bang and after beaus. Not that he ever stops but sometimes he starts sounding bored with rapping. But the whole clique seems to be keeping him sharp with it.
Open Mike is so dope at sometimes, But then he be taken it there on that self deprecating personal shit. He's good at it but always catching me off.
8. "does he have beef with e'rybody or are they just we cool like that bars?" In response to Reply # 7
seem like he shouting out the whole battle scene all over this joint and i don't know enough of the history. saw one clip of some shit with him from a couple years ago, and it was clear he's a target and not really bothered with being bothered by it (while still spit crazy). but i feel like there's just a shit ton of not so subliminals on this if I knew more of the context.

my ex knew him well in high school and went to Colburn music school with him. we were at a jose james show and nocando was playing keyboards. my ex whispered in my ear "that's my friend james on keys," and i said "really? cause he's also nocando from LOWENDTHEORY and project blowed."
what's funny is that she didn't know he was a rapper, but kept in contact with him and knew he was doing music. I knew him as a rapper from all the shows i'd attended, but had no idea he was a musician too.

Have had the whole joint on repeat since I copped it.
These cats are creative and dope as fuck.
DeGrassi Picture Day is my favorite shit in the world right now. Btw, is Mike having a little fun w/drake on that one? (DeGrassi, the rap & singing style, etc.)
18. "yes he is" In response to Reply # 16 Sat Nov-09-13 05:47 PM by justin_scott
about a month ago, nocan, kail, and mike did a show at the echoplex. afterwards, we went to breakfast. i was messing with mike, calling him open drake eagle.

overall i just can't fuck with this
the beats are aight to wack
it's tonally so cold and technical
and Nocando sounds so damn nihilistic and upset
they're all great a finding unique / clever imagery, punchlines and concepts, but it just doesn't connect for me. never has, since the OG blowed days. i respect it. i just don't bump it
the only joint i'm not feeling is "Fck the Nightstalker." so you like qualifiers, but not apologies, degrassi picture day, and all pastel everything? all four are so similar. and how can you not feel Manchester? that beat is just sick.
Then Hellfyre Club came together like Voltron. They did most of Dorner vs Tookie, surprisingly not doing Manchester. Nocando performed "Little Green Monsters" from his upcoming album. Kail and Open Mike Eagle were clearly the crowd favorites. There were so many people jumping that the floor was moving
