"Yall still use earbud headphones?" Mon Nov-04-13 11:28 PM by Starks dunked on Bul
I've stopped using earbuds for a while now; they're very uncomfortable. I strictly use over the hear monitor headphones. It has great bass and you dont have to keep adjusting them in your ears. But a big flaw, however, is monitor headphones are not portable. I cant just slip them in my pockets.
I don't really wanna have to carry and take care of an over the ear pair at work, but I've got Beats at home. I need another pair of something so I can leave a pair connected to my audio interface, and have a pair for music/podcasts.

I always liked earbuds ever since I got the ones that came with the original gameboy c.1990, mainly because I could sleep with them in (they were never uncomfortable to me). The bass thing has been bothering me more lately and I'm considering finding something better, but haven't done the research.

Gorgeous sound, big bass, and always 50% off or more at Amazon (they retail for $350 but my parents bought them for $120 when I was in high school and I bought a second pair for $80, $60 after a gift card, last year). I love over-the-ears but they're sort of impractical for public transit living and walking around. I can't use the earbuds at home though, it's too weird not being able to hear the atmosphere of the room.
I carry them around in my bag to use on the commute. I don't really use them that much so it makes more sense to have something super portable and compact. I normally prefer over the ear phones if given the option though.

I have some big ass Koss DJ headphones but they are pretty worn down. I like a big pair that covers my ears. I am not much of a gym rat and even when I was, I wasn't one of these dicks that just NEEDS to music and HIS music in his ears at all times. Whatever Rocky IV soundtrack shit was on at the gym didn't bother me.
The big ass headphones are great because they reduce noise and sound clear. If I am using headphones, it means I am at home (size not an issue), on a plane (definitely need something strong/noise reducing) or in the press box (need something that blocks out sound and highlights clearly the annoying mumbling of meatheads).
And you will know MY JACKET IS GOLD when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Never been uncomfortable, and for great sound I'm willing to pay the price. I'm rocking these right now. The sound on these is accurate. If the track has a lot of bass....they will boom.
But I really want these because Shure has a flatter sound, were as Ultimate Ears has a more round sound. They just came out with this line that actually fit in the ear. Perfect for winter time for skully wear.
Nothing against the ear covering headphones, but they're just too clunky and awkward for train rides & walking around. I've got the Sony MDR XD100 at home, but it's not that great to be honest.
