and they're both in my top 10. I just found it odd that he'd say Biggie wasn't lyrical but Face and Cube are.

Many people take "lyrical" as in how an MC strings their words together and the vocabulary they use in getting their concept across.
Big had clever rhymes but his style doesn't necessarily fit that definition of "lyrical" and when we are using G Rap as the basis one can understand how he's viewing his top 10.
So to me it's not surprising that he has that opinion of Big and Pac.
A lot of people do.
If you put Monch and Big on the same song, you would probably come away saying;
"You heard WHAT Big said"
and
"You heard HOW Monch killed that"
It comes down to what style excites you more as a listener.
And this is to say Big isn't good with rhyme structure or Monch isn't good with what he's saying because they both are good all around, but what hey stand out for are opposites.

slim to me is one of these dudes who was meant to flame out. if he made two records and the first lp then overdosed or went chappelle/ricky williams status, his shit would be stronger to me. he had a raw energy then combined with sick wordplay, etc. his shit kinda got tired and he was detached from the gritty shit that made him ill early on.
i dunno, top 10 emcee lists are always kinda wack to me. i could see an argument for either as top 10 or not, but if the list were say 50 or even 25 prolly, yeah, def both would be on it.
