thanks for checking it out, digging it and posting. it's great to be able to share some of my process this way. with DJs saying the hot music joint was too short (it wasn't originally intended to be anything more than a showcase video), i did an edit of it - http://www.sendspace.com/file/2l3twy which has been fun to spin already. will probably do an edit of each video's audio each week.

Mind explaining how you have that grand piano mic'd and processed? You are getting a great "near" sound out of it. >hey all, > >kicked off this video series last week with the live on the >fly recreation of soho's "hot music" - >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCAyAlYyTv8 > >today, we've launched the second video in the One Take series. >OKP sums it up pretty nicely here: >http://www.okayplayer.com/news/mark-de-clive-lowe-one-take-ep-2-video.html >or direct to the video: >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijNaEfWkWQY > >the performances were done with a grand piano, native >instruments maschine, two korg kp3 kaoss pads and a USB midi >controller > >no animals were harmed in the making of these videos. > >enjoy! >mark > >- > >come n Kickstart the new album -> http://kck.st/163aUuQ

thanks man. there's going to be one more video in the series where i talk about the setup and break it down a little. not all the way, but some of the way anwyay
as for the piano - for these specific videos i kept it super simple. the raw piano sound is being recorded on a Zoom H4N's two ambient mics, the zoom is sitting inside the piano - you can see it in some shots. the maschine and kaoss pads go into a mackie mixer and the line out from there goes into the line inputs on the H4N. the final sound is a blend of the two.
