Also: the crew plays 'fantasy editorial' by wondering What If Russell Simmons had stayed on at Vibe for its first issue? Finally, the Snobs go to print by naming the celebrity they would choose as a cover story to re-boot Vibe in 2014.

I loved VIBE for years. I started with the free trial subscription, but my mom wouldn't let me have a subscription to both VIBE and the comic books I was getting, so I went cold turkey on comics and toys to get VIBE. I started a few months before the Toni Braxton issue, which I still have.

I actually appreciate that y'all did and do the podcast generally... I'm just cognizant about the archivist/ musicologist/ journalist's position in maintaining consistency w/ information that can be and often is influential on those consuming the media. Really reminded me of the joy of being an obsessive magazine reader in the 1990s....

Lately, my magazine collection has really been seriously crowding my space, and I was considering putting the VIBEs in particular upon eBay next week.

This podcast not only made me decide not to do that, but to go and hunt down some of the very few issues I'd missed.
